Why Western National?

Having been born in Devon it was natural that when I developed an interest in buses that the NBC subsidiary Western National should be the company that I spent most time chasing after and photographing. This section is intended to share some of my photos and some of the history of the vehicles and operations in the period 1977 to 1982. The site will be developed over time so please do come back and visit regularly.

The Devon General Atlanteans

Devon General was early adopter of the Leyland Atlantean.

Vehicles acquired from Exeter Corporation

Exeter City Transport was acquired and by 1977 the retained Leyland fleet had all received the NBC poppy red livery with Devon General fleetnames.
